After a scoreless first period the visiting Pilots struck for three goals in a span of three minutes midway through the second period. A power play goal by John Taylor got things started for the Pilots followed by even strength goals from Cam Chrisman and Jordan Kovacs. They would take a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.
Freshman Ethan VanderRoest would get the Trojans on the board with a power play goal at 5:23 of the third period. Assists went to Miguel Ferraro and Charlie Douglass. Senior co-captain Noah Kendra would pull the Trojans to within one with a goal at 9:20. Assists went to Senior co-captain Kyle Knowles and Sebastian Brons-Piche. With the extra attacker on the ice the Trojans had a couple of excellent scoring chances in the final minute of play, but couldn’t get the equalizer past Pilots’ goaltender Daniel Miscavish.
Spencer Torres finished with 26 saves in goal for the Trojans.
