Traverse City Central got past Traverse City Saint Francis 46-39 tonight. After a slow first half the Trojans led 16-12 going into the third quarter. The Trojans then used a relentless full court defense to take a 34-25 lead into the forth. The Trojans lead by as many as 14 early in the forth quarter, but the Gladiators would not go quietly climbing back in behind Cara Franke’s play. Despite her efforts the Trojans held on to finish the game victorious. The Trojans were lead by Carina Stewart with 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Madison Goodwin scored 13 points and had 7 rebounds in the game before leaving with a hip injury. Sage Hill added 6 rebounds. Franke lead the way for the Glads with 13 points and Kam Schaub added 10 points. Ally Wood had 12 rebounds for the Glads.
The Trojans also won the JV contest 52-23. MacKenzie Borher lead the Trojans with 16 points and Sydney Affolder added 10.
The Trojans head to Alpena on Friday for their final Big North Conference game.
