Fremont High School 3rd 239
Manistee High School 3rd 368

The TC girls swim and dive team finished off their season as a team remaining undefeated with a fantastic win at the Coastal Conference meet with 526 points. Ludington took 2nd place with 516 points, Manistee 3rd with 368 points, and Fremont 4th with 239 points.

The Tritons came into their swimming prelims seeded on top, but it quickly became clear that Ludington was not going to take second easily. At prelims Ludington had phenomenal time drops and managed to win the 200 Medley relay and 200 Free relay for which TC had previously beat them 2 weeks prior at the Up North Invite. In addition, they had many girls place top 16. Prelims are strictly for determining placement at finals and the meet is not scored, but if it had been scored Ludington would have defeated Traverse City by 14 points despite an impressive 20 time drops for the Tritons. In the end every point counted for the Tritons and they were able to hold their undefeated title with a 10 point lead!

At finals the Triton 200 medley relay team of Alexa Baughman, Annika Canavero, Claire Bongiorno, and Ella Provins snagged 1st place with a huge time drop (2:04.39 prelims, 1:59.57 finals) and a season best time (previous best was a 2:03.69) and set the tone for the rest of the meet encouraging another 21 time drops. Individual top eight places include Leah Timmer 2nd in the 200 Free with a best time (2:07.73) and 3rd in the 500 Free with a best time (5:44.85), Caroline Lee 5th in the 200 Free (2:19.53) and 7th in the 500 Free (6:22.46), Claire Bongiorno 1st in the 200 IM with a best time (2:19.02) (despite placing 2nd at prelims) and 1st in the 100 Fly (1:02.37), Claire Norconk 4th in the 200 IM (2:41.01) and 4th in the 100 Fly (1:12.93), Maya Howard 7th in the 200 IM (3:00.17), Darby Drake 1st in diving (417.30), Jade Turner 2nd in diving (4:04.05), Wynnie Livengood 3rd in diving (383.45), Hope McGarry-Costello 7th 100 Fly (1:13.84) and 4th 100 Breaststroke with a best time (1:21.06), Shya Thayer 8th 100 Fly (1:20.90), Ella Provins 2nd in the 100 Free with a best time (1:00.09), Alexa Baughman 4th in the 100 Free (1:00.87), Emma Baird 6th 100 Free with a best time (1:01.62), Jocey Baughman 4th in the 100 Back (1:10.33), Annika Canavero 1st in the 100 Breaststroke (1:15.16) hanging onto her 1st place in conference from last year, Mally Ulatowski 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke with a best time (1:17.07).
